Description
Essential Skills guides are composed of 6 reading passages accompanied by 10 multiple choice questions and 2 open-ended questions; additional “reading for information” questions; 4 writing practices thematically linked to the literary work, including writing/editing, a graphic organizer, and grammar/usage questions; 7 essay prompts based on the literary work; suggested open-question responses, along with a multiple-choice key and answer explanations. While Essential Skills offers instructional support for Pre-AP and AP courses, it can also be used successfully with students in any academic or college-prep literature course.
