Q: What is an Applied Practice digital download?
A: An Applied Practice digital download is a PDF copy of an Applied Practice classroom resource guide.
Q: What technology or software is required to access a digital download?
A: Since a digital download is a PDF copy of an Applied Practice classroom resource guide, you will need a PDF viewer to view the file. If you do not have a PDF viewer, we recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, which is a free download at: https://get.adobe.com/reader/. We advise contacting your school technology support before downloading any programs on a school computer.
Q: How long do I have to download my PDF?
A: Links to PDFs will remain in your account for 12 months. You must download and save your PDF within the 12-month window. Applied Practice will not offer replacement links for failure to download, change of schools, technical difficulties, or lost files. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to save the file within the 12-month window.
Q: My school doesn't allow me to order online. How do I request a quote?
A: Quote requests may be sent to orders@appliedpractice.com. Please be sure to include the item, quantity requested, and name and email address of the teacher who will receive the license for the item.
Q: Why is my PDF stamped with my name, school, and email address at the bottom of each page?
A: When purchased an Applied Practice resource guide is licensed to an individual teacher. Under Applied Practice licensing guidelines, it is not permissible for multiple teachers to share a single resource guide.
Q: I am an administrator or purchasing agent for my school. Will my name be stamped on each resource guide?
A: No. Applied Practice resources are licensed to an individual teacher. You will need to provide the name and email address of the teacher who will be using the resource.
Q: What is the difference between a digital download and the digital site license?
A: An Applied Practice digital download is a PDF copy of an Applied Practice classroom resource guide. The Applied Practice digital site license provides teachers with access to PDF copies of the entire library of 204 resource guides. To inquire about a site license for your school, email info@appliedpractice.com.
Q: May I share my digital download with another teacher?
A: No. It is not permissible for multiple teachers to share a single resource guide under Applied Practice licensing guidelines. Your purchase of a digital download grants a non-exclusive, limited right license to the materials. You are not authorized to sub-license or redistribute these materials.
Q: May I post my PDF on a school website?
A: No. You are permitted to download and make photocopies of materials for use with your students in a face-to-face, classroom setting only. The PDF of the resource guide is not to be posted online or made accessible through any online platform or website, school or personal.
Teachers can use practice questions from the PDF in a school learning management system (such as Blackboard or Canvas) with their classes. The material must not be posted on a site accessible by the public.
Applied Practice respectfully requests that you do not post any resources on third-party (whether for-profit or not-for-profit) lesson sharing websites.
Q: Are Applied Practice digital downloads sold to parents and students?
A: No. All Applied Practice resources are created for classroom teachers and are not sold to parents or students. Customers must still provide their school address and school email address for verification before purchasing.
Q: Does Applied Practice sell to schools outside of the U.S.?
A: Yes, however schools outside of the U.S. will need to contact info@appliedpractice.com to request a quote.
Q: I recently purchased a resource guide and received a printed copy. May I get a digital download?
A: If you purchased after January 1, 2019, email info@appliedpractice.com with your receipt to inquire about a digital download. Purchases before January 1, 2019 are not eligible to receive a digital download.
Q: Do you send complimentary samples of your products?
A: No. There are sample pages available on our website.
Q: Where are the product samples located on your website?
A: If a sample is available, there will be a link next to the product title. Sample pages are provided for nearly all of our products. Just click on the "View a Sample" link or the magnifying glass located next to a product title.
Q: Who writes the Applied Practice workbooks?
A: We have in-house writers and we contract with numerous free-lance writers. We contract with experienced, quality teachers and former teachers who conform to our high standards. Many are department heads, published writers, and readers for national standardized exams.
Q: Who should I contact if I want to write for Applied Practice?
A: Send an e-mail to info@appliedpractice.com. Include your resume with your contact information, your teaching experience, and a brief statement as to why you want to write for us. Additionally, please attach a set of study questions you have written for any book you teach.
Q: How would I cite your publications in my AP Syllabus for the College Board?
A: To cite our test prep booklets as a resource in your teaching syllabus, you should know that the titles of nearly all our publications begin with "Applied Practice in ..." Also, we do not identify individual writers by name, so the author should be cited simply as "Applied Practice." Our headquarters are located in Dallas, Texas, and the year of copyright will vary from one title to another. As a template for citing our books in MLA format, we suggest the following entry for Applied Practice in Wuthering Heights:
