AP® Science Assessments and Scoring Options

Applied Practice offers the following assessment and scoring options for science teachers and students. Each assessment contains original, field-tested open response questions. Open response questions are evaluated by expert educators using a set of prescribed standards. Each exam mimics the style, format and expectations of the actual AP® exam.

Free Response Questions for AP® Biology: Full "free response exam" consisting of 2-long questions (worth 9-10 points each) and 4-short questions (worth 4 points each).

Teachers will receive access to their nGauge™ Teacher Dashboard where they can track student submissions and download applicable scoring reports. Standard reporting includes: Teacher Report with raw scores and Student Free Response Report with rubric breakdown. The teacher will also receive access to Student Samples with Scoring Commentary for each Free Response Question as well as a video showing the deconstruction of each free response question on the exam. In each video, an expert teacher will provide an analysis of the question, as well as tips and strategies to help students improve their scores.

Free Response Questions for AP® Chemistry: Full "free response exam" consisting of 3-long questions (worth 10-points each) and 4-short questions (worth 4-points each).

Teachers will receive access to their nGauge™ Teacher Dashboard where they can track student submissions and download applicable scoring reports. Standard reporting includes: Teacher Report with raw scores and Student Free Response Report with rubric breakdown. Free Response Questions for AP® Physics 1: Full "free response exam" consisting of 5 open response questions (2, 12-point questions and 3, 7-point questions).

Standard reporting includes: Teacher Report with raw scores and Student Free Response Report with rubric breakdown. The teacher will also receive access to Student Samples with Scoring Commentary for each Free Response Question as well as a video showing the deconstruction of each free response question on the exam. In each video, an expert teacher will provide an analysis of the question, as well as tips and strategies to help students improve their scores.
